Yesterday…

The estate’s history has its roots in the beginning of the 20th century, in the heart of the valley which was described by the illustrious Ovidio (43 BC -18 AD), in a verse of his “Amores”. For more than a century the vineyards that lie on the hills of the Peligna Valley have been cultivated by the Margiotta family,  with the same precision and passion that the founder Gabriele managed to pass on his children, at a time when viticulture could only mean hard work and the vines were bush-trained.

Now…

Leading the estate are Silvio and Carlo, father and son, who, together with Francesca who represents the 5th generation, have received an important heritage from the family in terms of knowledge and passion for viticulture, which makes it possible to express the essence of a land and the culture of the people in a single drop of wine.

Vines

The cultivated grape varieties are indigenous (Montepulciano, Pecorino and Trebbiano) and are made into long-living, elegant wines with lots of character. These wines are carefully produced, monitored from bud to bottle, and are the result of never ending research and innovation that aim to express the quality of a terroir so strong and gentle.
