      • Tasting notes

The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC "Cretara" 2020 from Cantina Margiotta is characterized by an intense ruby red color with violet reflections. On the nose, it offers aromas of ripe red fruit and delicate spices. On the palate, it has a persistent flavor with notes of cherry and red fruits, balanced by good acidity and soft tannins. The refinement takes place in oak barrels for a long period, giving complexity and depth to the wine.

      • Pairings

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo "Cretara" is perfect to accompany red meats, roasts and braised meats. Its intensity and structure also make it ideal with mature cheeses and Abruzzo cuisine. Served at a temperature of 18-20°C, it best expresses its organoleptic characteristics.

      • History and provenance

The "Cretara" wine takes its name from Colle Cretara, where the ancestors of the Margiotta family began cultivating the first vines in the early 1900s. This Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC celebrates the Abruzzo winemaking tradition, using 100% late-harvested Montepulciano grapes and aged in oak barrels.
